Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci were spotted enjoying a day out at the Reina Sofia museum in Madrid together after reports suggested they’ve been dating since last year.
It is believed the Beetlejuice producer, 64, and Spectre actress, 58, have known each other for 16 years, but after appearing together at Lumière Film Festival in Lyon in October, their relationship turned romantic.
At the event in France, Monica presented Tim with the Lumiere lifetime achievement award, to which he said in his acceptance speech: ‘All my life put together, I have never felt so much love as tonight. Welcome to the best funeral I ever had!’
Now they’ve been spotted out and about together looking chic as they wore all black for their cultural day out in the Spanish city.
Both stars donned sunglasses and Tim sported a top hat, while Monica wore her auburn hair down. They walked close together and were seen chatting to another woman on the street.
According to the Daily Mail, Paris Match first reported on the rumoured relationship and claimed that the pair met ‘briefly met on the steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes in 2006, but it was only 16 years later, behind the scenes of another festival, that they got closer’.
The actress has two daughters with her ex-husband, L’Appartement co-star Vincent Cassel, who she divorced in 2013 after 14 years of marriage.
The star was previously married to fashion photographer Claudio Carlos Basso from 1990-1994.
The Wednesday producer was married to artist Lena Gieseke from 1987-1991, and was famously in a long-term relationship with actress Helena Bonham Carter until 2014.
Helena and Tim began dating in 2001 after they met on the set of Planet of the Apes, and the pair share two children; Billy, 20, and Nell, 16.
The Harry Potter actress and the Edward Scissorhands helmer famously lived next door to one another in London’s Belsize Park, with an adjoining hallway between the two townhouses.
Helena told The Telegraph that Burton’s snoring was ‘an element’ in their two-home set up, and she also revealed on an episode of Grounded with Louis Theroux, the pair ‘really didn’t get along’ while working on Sweeny Todd together in 2007.
While the actress recalled they shared ‘a lot of laughs’ together, she also added there were times when working together was ‘not harmonious’.
The Crown star continued: ‘We weren’t very argumentative as a couple except on Sweeney.’
Tim Burton’s most recent work has been on the hit Netflix series Wednesday, while Monica starred in action thriller Memory in 2022 alongside Liam Neeson.
Meanwhile, Helena is currently dating historian Rye Dag Holmboe, who is 21 years her junior, after meeting at a wedding in 2018.
