Roger Waters and Guy Pratt have been friends since the bassist took up Roger’s position after he quit the band. On the Fingals Cave Podcast, guitarist Lee Harris shared his thoughts on their relationship, saying: “Things are being said in the heat of the moment, but I mean, all I know is that the guy did actually play with Roger at that benefit concert that he played with David [Gilmour], so there’s no bad blood between them.”

Despite their past, Waters happily performed with Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, where Pratt plays bass. Harris recounted the day of their New York performance: “‘Nick [Mason] wants to see you upstairs,’ said the production manager.” When I got up, all the bands were in the dressing room, and Nick announced, ‘Roger’s going to join us tonight.’ I broke out laughing, and he replied, ‘No, he is,’ and I just laughed, and Gary looked at me and said, ‘He is,’ because they knew I was laughing at a joke.

It’s now around 6:15 p.m., and the concert starts in two hours; Rogers had misplaced his phone and didn’t know Nick’s phone number, didn’t know his email address, and couldn’t respond to Nick when he asked if he wanted to come and do something. He finally got touch of him at six o’clock that night, and he arrived about 15 to 20 minutes before we went on stage. So we’d all met him previously, and that was the gig.” You can hear the interview below.
