Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi have had a (not-so-serious) quarrel for a long time. Over the last six months, Capaldi has made numerous jokes and comments about the singer. With his performance at the BBC’s Radio 1 Big Weekend Festival, he took things to the next level. While playing in Scotland, Capaldi jokingly said: “Ed is not present today.” Yes…fuck him!”
He then persuaded the audience to join him in a chant. With the musician, the audience chanted: “Fucked you, Ed!” Sheeran uploaded a video to Instagram with the caption: “I was getting used to being someone you cared about, Lewis Capaldi.” In the post, he provided a video of the performance, which was followed by Ed saying: “Lewis, I thought we were friends.
I thought we were buddies, you f…” The feud began in 2022, when Capaldi mentioned the musician on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. He described going to look at a house that Ed suggested he buy, only to discover that once he closed the sale, the place had a distinct odor of cigarettes and feet.
