This year’s Coachella was a rollercoaster, especially for Blink 182, who were headliners in the festival’s second week. Travis Barker, who had recently undergone finger surgery, accepted the challenge and gave his all during the two performances. He recently took to Twitter to relate his experience performing with an unhealed finger at a music festival. He also noted that despite coming off a hectic two weekends, he recorded four songs for the band’s future album. Barker was injured during a practice while doing a drum solo. The drummer dislocated his finger during the high-energy performance, and he soon suffered the same injury again. Travis Barker chose to get surgery on his left hand to prevent going through the same scenario again, which forced the long-awaited Blink-182 tour to be postponed. Despite the fact that Travis’ rehabilitation was not complete, the drummer resolved to take on the tremendous burden of performing at Coachella. He not only participated in the event’s initial weekend, but he also returned the following weekend. As if that wasn’t enough, he immediately went into the studio to record the final four tracks for the new album, which is expected to be completed before the start of the rescheduled tour.

Travis Barker’s comments on performing at Coachella with an unhealed finger and the band’s new album are as follows: “I went to Coachella twice in a row with an unhealed finger.” While I still had stitches, I recorded the last four songs on the album. “A four-day tour?” He went on to say: “The album will be completed before we go on tour.” Despite the stress of two Coachella weekends in a row and an unhealed finger, Barker has been hard at work on the upcoming Blink-182 record. His resolve to finish the album before the band’s reunion tour in May is admirable.
