Mötley Crüe and Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rock are now performing for fans at Rockfest in Finland. Vince Neil and Monroe appear to have buried the hatchet, according to Nikki Sixx’s Instagram post and Mitch Lafon’s tweet. This is what Sixx said in his post: “What a pleasant surprise to see Michael Monroe at the show tonight.” I haven’t seen this wonderful gentleman in years, with everyone’s personal lives taking precedence over vocations and living in various areas of the world. Michael, you’re a gentleman; please bring your harp next time.” Aside from Sixx’s post, Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon tweeted a photo of Neil and Monroe chatting backstage during the festival, writing:
“Today’s backstage in Finland. Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks exchanged pleasantries with Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe.” The two artists haven’t been on each other’s radars since the tragic night former Hanoi Rocks drummer ‘Razzle’ Dingley died in a car accident when Neil was at the wheel very drunk and lost control of the car on the way back from the store and hit another vehicle. As a result of the disaster, each member of Hanoi Rocks had a unique reaction to what occurred. Andy McCoy stated to ‘Artists On Record’ last summer:
“I’ve never even received an apology from that motherf*cker.” You know who I’m referring to. I’m not going to name anyone. Why would I make him famous? F*** him! He runs away every time I see him. Because he knows what I’d do, but that’s none of our concern.” Bassist Sami Yaffa, on the other hand, revealed on ‘Waste Some Time with Jason Green,’ that it was a sad accident; he explained: “I can’t point a finger at it.” It was an accident, and I can’t go on living with hatred in my life. It’s pointless to despise someone for what that happened. Razzle wanted to live the way we did, and he wanted to be in a fast car. He didn’t realize it was party time, and an accident occurred. It was equally terrifying for the folks in the car they collided with. It was especially difficult for Vincent because he had to deal with it every day.”
